Tourism Victoria and a delegation from Melbourne, Australia and surrounds dropped by Toronto last night to give industry personnel an update on the region during a dinner function at the Brassai Restaurant. Tourism Victoria’s Kate Flynn (pictured second from left with the group) said Melbourne has become known as Australia’s cultural capital, offering an “ever-expanding culinary scene,” as well as great music and arts. She noted the city’s infrastructure is growing fast with several new hotels and restaurants set to open. Flynn added unique experiences just outside of Melbourne are numerous. “From Melbourne, you have easy access to the coast, wineries, national parks and nature, yet can return to the hotel at the end of the day and have a five-star meal experience – it’s the best of both worlds.” The Melbourne road show is in Vancouver today.
